  27. I had untarred the xdvik archive in the following directory:

  29. /users/beonstofstr/bultman/TeX/dvi/xdvik/xdvik-1.7/

  31. When running configure, it assumes that kpathsea can be found in

  33. /users/beonstofstr/bultman/TeX/dvi/kpathsea/xdvik/xdvik-1.7/kpathsea

  35. which of course is not true.
  36. The problem arises because it assumes that the first xdvik directory
  37. it finds in the path is the twin directory of kpathsea in the distribution.
  38. It should probably keep searching until no more xdvik dirs can be found.

  43. On many HP9000 etc. machines, the Xaw etc. libs are shared. If this
  44. is detected, the environment variable LDOPTS should be set to "-a default".
  45. (instead of -a archive, as it often is on virgin systems).
